Inspector Notes

This monitoring inspection was initiated by licensing staff and concluded on 09/20/2023, between the hours of 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. There were 66 children present, ranging from infant to preschool-age, with 12 staff supervising, across 4 separate classrooms. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration; physical plant; staffing and supervision; programming; medication; special care and emergencies; and nutrition. A total of 5 children records, and 8 staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined that there was (1) non-compliance with an applicable standard. This violation was documented on the Violation Notice issued to the center.

Standard 8VAC20-780-270-A
Based on review, a piece of equipment, outside on the center playground was not maintained in a safe condition.

Evidence -
1. On the date of inspection (09/20/2023), peeling paint was observed on the brown climbing structure located on the center playground.
2. The brown peeling paint was primarily observed on the high traffic areas of the painted wood.
Plan of Correction: Will sand, and re-paint all applicable areas on this equipment. In the meantime, staff will continue to monitor.
