Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated on 10/28/2024 and completed on 10/28/2024. The on-site inspection began at 9:30 am and ended at 12:00pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 45 children present and 11 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 6 staff records.
This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, observations.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-510-E
The centers procedures for administering medication includes methods to prevent use of outdated medication.
The medication for child #1 had expired 2 months ago.
Plan of Correction: The medication will be returned to the parent at pick up.
Standard 8VAC20-780-510-P
When an authorization for medication expires, the facility shall notify the parents that the medication must be picked up within 14 days of the authorization expiring.
The medication for child #1 was onsite, but the medication authorization had expired 2 months ago and the medication was not returned as required.
Plan of Correction: The parent will complete a new medication authorization form for 10 days until the physician can also complete the authorization from.
