Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on June 11th, 2024, from 8:35 am - 10:20 am. At the time of inspection, 93 children were in care with 24 staff members present, within supervision guidelines. The inspector reviewed 9 children?s records and 5 staff records. Children were observed during snack time, engaged in group activities, center activities, and free play. A sample of medications were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the violation notice.

Standard 8VAC20-780-140-A
Based on record review, each child did not have a physical examination within 30 days after the first day of attendance.

Evidence:
Child #3 has been attending since July 2023, and did not have a physical examination record on site.
Plan of Correction: We will remind the parent today to bring in the record of the child's last physical.
Standard 8VAC20-780-280-B
Based on observation, hazardous substances such as cleaning materials were not kept in a locked place, inaccessible to children.

Evidence:
In the Early Preschool 1 classroom, there were two unidentified spray bottles on the counter.
Plan of Correction: This was corrected during the inspection.
