Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on April 14, 2022. There were 53 children directly supervised by 9 staff. The indoor physical plant, staff records, children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in reading, watching a video, and transitioning to rest time. There was an assortment of age appropriate materials for the children in care. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Based on record review, not all hazardous substances were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence:
An unlocked cabinet of chemical cleaning supplies was observed in the upstairs classroom.
Plan of Correction: Substance was moved immediately after inspection and locked. The cabinet was high out of reach of children.

Based on observation, children's records were not treated confidentially.
Evidence:
A child's allergy medical information was posted in plain view on a board in the infant room.
Plan of Correction: Allergy list was covered immediately after inspection. We were never told to cover this before in case of emergency.
