Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on 03/11/2021 and concluded on 03/23/2021. The Center Administration was contacted by email to initiate the inspection. There were sixty children with direct care staff within ratio for supervision. Observed several classrooms using FaceTime. Children engaged in circle time, infant care, and on the playground. Reviewed a sample of children and staff records, trainings and emergency preparation. No medication was reported to be on-site the day of the inspection. Food for lunch is provided by the parent. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Based on center administration statement, no staff member has current daily health observation training during all hours of operation.
Evidence:
Daily Health Observation training certification expired 11/2020.
Plan of Correction: The center administration will schedule a trainer to conduct Daily Health Observation training for staff within the next 2 weeks.

Based on observation and staff confirmation, an over the counter product was not labeled with the child's name.
Evidence:
A diaper ointment did not have the child's name on the container.
