8VAC20-790-Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Family Day Homes
During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above to include standards found out of compliance during the previous inspection. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed.
Inspector Notes
A subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was conducted on 1/16/25. The inspection started at 10:20am and concluded at 11:05am. There were 2 children present and 1 caregiver; the point total was 6. The inspector reviewed 4 children?s records and 2 caregiver/household member(s) records while on-site. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Standard 8VAC20-790-180-B
The vendor shall maintain a written hard copy record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs.
The vendor has not maintained a written hard copy of daily attendance of children in care.
Plan of Correction: The vendor said she has an attendance form and will complete daily attendance for each child.
Standard 8VAC20-790-190-B
Repeat violation.
The children's enrollment information shall include verification of the child's proof of identity.
There was no documentation of verification of proof of identity for Child #2, #3, #5 and #6.
Plan of Correction: The vendor said she would verify the proof of identity of each child.
Standard 8VAC20-790-250-F
Caregivers who work directly with children shall complete the department's health and safety course annually (Virginia Health and Safety).
There was no documentation that the vendor has completed the training course in the last year.
Plan of Correction: The vendor said she will complete the annual training course and keep the training certificate for verification.

The diapering surface shall be cleaned with soap and water and then sanitized with bleach and water after each use.
The vendor reported that the diaper changing surface is cleaned twice with wipes after each use.
Plan of Correction: The vendor said she will clean and sanitize the diaper changing pad after each use as required.
Standard 8VAC20-790-390-F
Soiled disposable diapers and wipes shall be disposed of in a leak-proof or plastic-lined storage system that is either foot operated or used in such a way that neither the caregiver's hand nor the soiled diaper or wipe touches the exterior surface of the storage system during disposal.
Soiled diapers are being disposed of in a trash can with a flip top lid that the diaper touches when being disposed.
Plan of Correction: The vendor said she understands the type of diaper disposal trash can that is required.
