Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was completed from 10:50 a.m. until 1;30 p.m. There were 100 children present, ranging in ages infant to school-age, with 21 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 10 child records and 10 staff records were reviewed. Children were observed sleeping, playing, being fed in the infant room, playing a game in the school-age room, and playing outside and inside and being served lunch.

The inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-510-B
Based on observation, an authorization for a medication had expired and it had been longer than 14 days. When an authorization has expired, the parent shall be notified that the medication needs to be picked up within 14 days or the parent must renew the authorization.
Evidence:
1. There was bottle of Tylenol in the Infant Room #1 and the the authorization had expired 04/24/22.
Plan of Correction: The director told the staff to send home the medication on the day of inspection.
