Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was conducted on 09/27/2023. A tour of the facility was conducted, in addition to a record review and interviews with staff. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on observation the center did not ensure all hazardous substances were kept in a locked place, using a safe locking method.
Evidence:
In the infant room, the storage area beneath the infant changing table was not locked and contained 2 bottles of disinfectant spray. There was also a small bottle of correction fluid on the surface of the sink area.
Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the licensee:
White out removed. Teachers were reminded to lock changing table.

Based on observation and a record review the center did not ensure when children are in ongoing mixed age groups, the staff-to-children ratio applicable to the youngest child applied.
Evidence:
1. There were 9 children with 2 staff, all together on the playground. The age of the children ranged from 8 months - 2 years.
2. The youngest in the group of children on the playground was 8 months-old.
3. The ratio required for children birth - 16 months-old is 1 staff to every 4 children.
Plan of Correction: The following corrective action as provided by the licensee:
1:4 under 16 months will play on their designated playground. 1:5 16 months and up will play on their designated playground.
