Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm. There were 89 children present in direct care and supervision of 18 staff members. The children were observed engaged in circle time activities, bathroom time, playing outdoors and eating lunch. Handwashing was observed before lunch time. The lunch menu include macaroni and beef, mixed salad, apples and milk. 5 staff records, 4 children's records, emergency drill records, attendance and medications were reviewed. Based on records review, medication authorization was not available to staff.
Evidence:
1. An inhaler was present at the center for Child # 1, and it was listed on the Child # 1's allergy action plan as one of the steps to take in case there was an allergic reaction.
2. The center did not have a written authorization on site for the inhaler.
Plan of Correction: The authorization for the inhaler will be obtained.

Based on records review, children's records did not contain complete information.
Evidence: Child # 1's record was missing the following information: parent's work numbers, address for one emergency contact.
