Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 8:30 am to 9:40 am. There were 57 children in direct care of 12 staff members. The children were observed arriving to the program, eating morning snack and engaged in small group activities. The morning snack provided by the center include chex and fresh kiwis. 3 staff records, 3 children's records, emergency drill records, attendance records and medications were reviewed. Based on records review, the center did not maintain a written record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs for children in care.
Evidence:
1. Written attendance was not recorded for the Toddler room from 7/17/23 and 7/18/23. Additionally written attendance was not recorded for children that had arrived to the center in the morning on 7/19/23.
2. The three and half to four year classroom's written attendance was missing the check outs for 7/17/23; and no written attendance was recorded for 7/18/23. Additionally, 4 children had arrived on 7/19/23 in the morning whose written attendance was not recorded as they arrived.
Plan of Correction: Written attendance will be recorded promptly for all children in care as they arrive and depart each day.
