Inspector Notes

This Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was initiated by licensing staff and concluded on 10/20/2022, between the hours of 10 am to 1 pm. There were 7 children present (14 points), with 2 caregivers supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined (2) non-compliance with the applicable standards. Violations were documented on the Violation Notice issued to the home.

Based on review, 1 of 2 staff files indicated that within the first 90 days of employment all caregivers did not complete Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff sponsored by the Department of Education.

Evidence -
1. On the date of inspection (10/20/2022) certification of completion of the Virginia Pre-Service training was not available for Staff #2.
2. The start date for Staff #2 was listed as 03/01/2022. Staff #2 was observed on site providing care on the date of inspection.
Plan of Correction: This training will be completed.

Based on interview, the lockdown procedures were not practiced at least annually.

Evidence -
1. The drill log was not available for review.
2. The Provider stated (during an interview conducted on the date of inspection - 10/20/22) that a lockdown drill had not been conducted in the past year.
Plan of Correction: A lockdown drill will be conducted.
