Inspector Notes

This Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was initiated by licensing staff and concluded on 01/13/2023, between the hours of 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. There were 7 children with 1 resident child present (20 points), with 2 caregiver staff supervising starting at 9:35. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined (1) non-compliance with an applicable standard. Violations were documented on the Violation Notice issued to the home.

Based on review and interview, 1 of 2 staff files indicated that the department's health and safety update course was not conducted within the past year.

Evidence -
1. On the date of inspection (01/13/2023), a certificate of completion for the department's health and safety update course for Staff #1 was not available for review.
2. Staff #1 stated (during an interview conducted on the date of inspection) that this course had not been completed for this past year.
3. Staff #2 has yet to reach a full year of employment.
Plan of Correction: This updated 3 hour course will be taken.
