The Licensing Inspector conducted a complaint inspection on 7/12/21 and 8/2/21 in response to a complaint that was received in the Licensing office on 7/1/21 related to the supervision of the children in care. Staff were interviewed, documentation was reviewed, and the entire facility was inspected and observed during the investigation. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Violations
1Evidence:
1. On 6/30/21, child #1 was picked up from the facility and placed in his car seat. According to the parent of child #1, child #1's face was flushed and he was crying. The parent then noticed a red blister on the child's right hand. Upon noticing the blister the parent of child #1 then went back to the facility to inquire what had happened.
2. The parent of child #1 went back into the facility and spoke to staff #1 (Program Director) about the blister, but staff #1 was unaware of any injury to child #1 that would have caused the blister.
3. Staff #2 and staff #3 who cared for child #1 during the day both also said they were unaware of how child #1 received the blister to his hand.
4. Staff #1 (Program Director) confirmed that the facility did not ensure the care and protection of child #1 due to the injury (blister) on the the hand of child #1 that occurred while child #1 was in care at the facility on 6/30/21.
