Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on-site February 6, 2023 and concluded remotely February 7, 2023. There were 10 children present, ranging in ages from 5 years to 11 years, with 2 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 4 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Please complete the ?plan of correction? and ?date to be corrected? for each violation cited on the violation notice and return it to me within 5 business days from today. Please specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Your plan of correction should contain: 1) steps to correct the noncompliance with the standard(s), 2) measures to prevent the noncompliance from occurring again; and 3) person(s) responsible for implementing each step and/or monitoring any preventative measures. Please do not use staff names; list staff by positions only.

Based on observation and interview on February 6, 2023, the center failed to ensure a notice regarding the presence and location of asbestos containing materials and advising that the asbestos inspection report and management plan are available for review shall be posted.
Evidence: The asbestos plan for the center was not posted. Staff #2 acknowledged the asbestos plan was not posted.
Plan of Correction: Asbestos notice posted on the site bulletin board. The most recent asbestos report for the school was sent to the site to be available for review. Upon review, the current report was for 3 years and so the OOY Director contacted the school Public Works for an updated report and was told the inspection had been completed, but the report had not yet been received. It will be available for review on-site once received.

Based on a review of records on February 6, 2023, the center failed to ensure to implement a monthly practice evacuation drill.
Evidence: There was no documentation of a fire drill being practiced in January 2023.
Plan of Correction: The issue has been discussed with the site manager on 2/7/23 and she will work to ensure they are completed each month.
