Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was initiated and completed on 2/4/2025.
The on-site inspection began at 11:50am and ended at 1:15pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 62 children present and 12 staff. The inspector reviewed 6 children?s records and 4 staff records on-site on 2/4/2025. This inspection included: document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-130-E
The center is required to obtain documentation of additional immunizations once every six months for children under the age of two years.

Child #6 is under two years of age and the most recent documentation of immunizations on file was from ten months ago.
Plan of Correction: We will ask the parents for the updated immunization record today.
Standard 8VAC20-780-530-A-1
Staff are required to have current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as appropriate to the age of the children in care from an organization such as the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, American Safety and Health Institute, or National Safety Council.

Staff #4 did not have a current certification in CPR on file at the time of the inspection. The most recent CPR certification that Staff #4 had on file expired 5 months ago.
Plan of Correction: We will have the staff member get an updated CPR certification as soon as possible.

Staff are required to have current certification in in first aid from an organization such as the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, American Safety and Health Institute, or National Safety Council.
