A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was completed on 9/21/2023. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
Information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued.

Based on a review of records and interview, the licensee did not ensure that staff who work directly with children shall annually attend the department's 3 hour health and safety update course.
Evidence:
Three staff records were reviewed.
The record for staff #3 contained documentation of the completed the Virginia Preservice training on 4/30/2021 but did not contain any documentation of having completed the annual health and safety update courses since then.

Plan of Correction: Staff #3 began the 3 hour health and safety update course for the current year but has not completed it. She will complete the training and submit her training certificate to be placed in her record within 10 days (10/2/2023).
