During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above to include standards found out of compliance during the previous inspection. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed. If there were any serious injuries or fatalities related to a violation, the details will be included in the description of the violation.

Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated on 8/29/2024 and completed on 9/6/2024, The on-site inspection began at 4:20 pm and ended at 6:10 pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 58 children present and 4 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 4 staff records electronically on 9/6/2024.
This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, observations and measurements.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-40-M
The center is required to keep a current list of all known allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions in each room or area where children are present.
The record for child 6 contained an allergy care plan for a diagnosed food allergy. The written list of allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions located in each classroom did not contain this child's name or required allergy information.
Plan of Correction: Allergy information is maintained electronically and a new print out had not been posted. An updated allergy list will be printed and posted by tomorrow morning and reprinted as any changes occur.
Standard 8VAC20-780-510-G
Medication shall be labeled with the child's name, the name of the medication, the dosage amount, and the time or times to be given.
One medication located in the locked medicine box was not labeled with the child's name, the name of the medication, the dosage amount, nor the time or times to be given.
Plan of Correction: The medication was returned to the child's parent at pick up during the inspection. The parent was asked to bring the medication back in the labeled prescription packaging.
Standard 8VAC20-780-560-G
When food is brought from home, the center must have extra food or have provisions to obtain food to serve to children so they can have an appropriate snack or meal if they forget to bring food from home. Some children were observed eating snacks that they brought from home. Approximately half of the children did not bring food from home were not offered a snack.
Plan of Correction: Staff will discuss and come to a solution to provide snacks for children who forget theirs and wish to eat a snack. Management will be asked to come to a solution to provide snacks, as needed, within 30 days.
