Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was conducted on October 2, 2024. The on-site inspection began at t10:30 a.m. and ended at 12:30 p.m. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 45 children present and 5 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 3 staff records on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 22.1-289.035-B-4
The center is required to obtain background checks from any state in which the individual has resided in the preceding five years. The center did not request a search of the child abuse and neglect registry from one state for Staff 1, who has been employed for more than two months and was working with children at the time of the inspection.
Plan of Correction: Out of state background checks will be submitted prior to employment.
Standard 8VAC20-780-80-A
For each group of children, the center shall maintain a written record of daily
attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it
occurs. At approximately 11:30 a.m. on 10/02/2024, there were 18 children present in the preschool room, but only 15 were marked present on the attendance record.
Plan of Correction: The attendance record was corrected during today's inspection.
