Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was conducted on with the center director and staff. There were 74 children present, ranging in ages from 5 months to 5 years, with 10 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 7 child records and 7 staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-510-P
Based on review of six medications, the facility failed to notify parents that that the medication must be picked up within 14 days of the authorization expiring or that a new authorization should be completed. Evidence: The long term medication authorization expired 2/5/2023. The authorization had not been renewed and the medication was not returned or destroyed as required. The medication was on site.
Plan of Correction: Staff will request a new authorization from the parent or will return the medication.
