Inspector Notes

A renewal inspection was conducted on 05/26/2022 between the hours of 2:15pm and 3:15 pm. There were 5 children present, with 2 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 child records and 2 staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard 8VAC20-800-240-A
Based on observation, areas on the outside of the family day home, are not in a safe condition.
Evidence:
1) The ground on the backyard has various holes and areas that are uneven and can cause to be tripping hazards.
Plan of Correction: Dirt and sand has been added to cover the holes.
Standard 8VAC20-800-500-C
Based on observation, stationary outdoor playground equipment was not firmly anchored with ground supports that are covered with materials to protect children from injury.
Evidence:
1) The inspector observed a dome climber in the backyard that was not anchored to the ground.
Plan of Correction: The anchors has been put in place to secure the dome.
