Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on June 6, 2024, from 9:00am-10:10 am. At the time of entrance, ( 6 ) children (22 ) points were in care with ( 2 ) caregivers present. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 5 caregiver/household member records. Children were observed during morning naptime. No medications were on site. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the violation notice. Repeat violations were found and are identified within this report.

Standard 8VAC20-800-280
Based on observation poisonous substances are stored in areas accessible to children.
Evidence: Outside in the playground area located near the shed were 4 full jugs of motor oil. Children have access to this area.
Plan of Correction: Provider will remove jogs of oil from the playground area.
Standard 8VAC20-800-60-B
Based on review of children records, 2 children records did not have documentation of annual updates of the emergency contact information.
Evidence: Child #3 and #4, both first day of attendance 4/17/2023 does not have documentation of the annual updates of the emergency contact information.
Plan of Correction: Provider will have parent review and sign form today.
Standard 8VAC20-800-830-C
REAPEAT and SYSTEMIC VIOLATION:
Based on provider interview and review of documentation, provider has failed to practice and document monthly fire evacuation drills.
Evidence: The fire evacuation drill was missing the months of April and May 2024.
Plan of Correction: Provider will conduct monthly drills and record on the form.
