Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was initiated and completed on 9/16/25. The on-site inspection began at 10:40 am and ended at 12:40 pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 16 children present and six staff. The inspector reviewed six children?s records and five staff records on-site.

Standard 8VAC20-780-210-A
Program leaders shall be at least 18 years of age, have fulfilled a high school program completion or the equivalent, and meet one of the following.
Staff #4, who has been employed for two years, did not have documentation on file stating how the qualifications for lead teacher was met.
Plan of Correction: Will document how staff meets qualifications.
Standard 8VAC20-780-510-G
Medication shall be labeled with the child's name, the name of the medication, the dosage amount, and the time or times to be given.
Child # 6, had an over the counter medication that was not labeled with the child's name, name of medication, dosage and time to be given.
Plan of Correction: Medication was labeled with the child's name, name of medication, dosage amount and time to be given.
Standard 8VAC20-780-510-H
Nonprescription medication shall be in the original container with the direction label attached.
Medication for child #6 was not in the original container with the directions attached.
Plan of Correction: Contact was made with the parent requesting that the medication be placed in the original container.

Bottles shall not be propped or used while the child is in his designated sleeping location.

A child in the infant area was in a crib drinking their bottle.
Plan of Correction: Director reviewed the standards with staff the day of the inspection.
