Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 07/18/2023 from 1:40pm-2:45pm. There were 3 children directly supervised by the provider. The home, 3 caregiver/household member records, 3 children?s records, evacuation drills, and emergency supplies were inspected. Children were observed during naptime and playing quietly. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Based on record review, the provider did not maintain documentation of the current rabies vaccination for one pet.

Evidence:
1. A pet was observed in the family day home.
2. Documentation of the current rabies vaccination for the pet was not available for review.
Plan of Correction: The provider will obtain the vaccination record from her family member.
Standard 8VAC20-800-530-G
Based on observation, one child under the age of two years was using a pillow.

Evidence:
Child #1, age 16 months was observed sleeping while using a pillow.
Plan of Correction: The provider will not allow children under the age of 2 to sleep with pillows.
