Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was conducted on 2/23/2023 with the center director and staff. There were 7 children present, ranging in ages from 4 months to 3 years, with 2 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 0 staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on review of the emergency drill log and staff interview, the facility failed to conduct a lockdown drill as least annually as required. The last documented lockdown drill was conducted 12/22/2021.
Plan of Correction: A lockdown drill will be conducted annually.
Standard 8VAC20-780-570-B
Based on observation, the facility failed to keep bottles out of the designated sleeping location. Evidence: Child 4 was asleep in the crib and had a bottle next to him in the crib.
Plan of Correction: Bottles shall not be allowed in sleeping areas.
