Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was conducted on April 19th 2022. There were 14 children present, with 7 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. Standard 8VAC20-780-500-B
Based on discussion with staff and observation, the diapering surface is not being cleaned and sanitized according to licensing standards.
Evidence: The diapering surface in the infant classroom was being sanitized but not cleaned with soap and water. The procedure according to licensing standards, includes spray or dip with a solution of soap and water, pat dry and then spray or dip with a solution of bleach and water and allow to air dry.
Plan of Correction: A soap and water bottle was placed in classroom during inspection. In the future all classrooms will have soap and water as well as bleach and water.
