Inspector Notes

An unannounced SHSI inspection was conducted on 4/11/23. The vendor had 3 children in care and her own two children present, totaling 13 points. The children were observed playing and napping during the beginning of the inspection. The vendor has moved the care space to the main floor of the house from the basement. Lots of interaction between the vendor and the children . The children have lots of space to explore and lots of supplies. The children had snack at the end of the inspection, goldfish, string cheese and yogurt and was getting ready to go on a morning walk to a nearby playground. A violation notice was given to the vendor with this inspection summary.

Based on the review of the household member records, the vendor failed to have background checks for two household members.
Evidence: The vendors family members moved in to the home in June of 2022 and the vendor does not have the background checks on file for the household members, household member 3 and 4,
Plan of Correction: I will submit the background checks to office for children within the next 10 days,

Based on the review of the vendors training records, the vendor failed to take 16 hours of training in the last licensing period.
Evidence: No records of any training for the last year.
Plan of Correction: I will make sure that I take 16 hours of training this year.

Base don the review of emergency drill records and interview with the vendor, the vendor failed to conduct shelter in place drills in 2022.
Evidence: The vendor stated that she had not conducted shelter in place drills in 2023.
Plan of Correction: I will make sure I conduct two shelter in place drills this year.
