Violations

2
Standard 8VAC20-800-240-A
Based on observation, areas and furnishings of the family day home, inside and outside, were not maintained in a clean, safe, and operable condition.

Evidence:
1. Peeling paint was observed on the wall by the entrance to the main daycare space and on the wall by the highchairs.
Plan of Correction: I will cover the areas with peeling paint.
Standard 8VAC20-800-540-A
Based on observation, infant carrier seats, swings, strollers, feeding or activity tables, and high chairs were not used according to the manufacturer's instructions and when occupied by a child, a safety strap was not used and securely fastened.

Evidence:
1. Child #1 was placed into a high chair that had the safety straps removed. The child was not securely fastened.
Plan of Correction: I will put the straps back on the highchairs today and make sure children are securely fastened in the highchairs when in use.
