Inspector Notes

A (monitoring/renewal/complaint) inspection was initiated on 11/16/2023 and concluded on 11/16/2023. There were 44 children present, ranging in ages from 9 months to 4 years, with 10 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 8 staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined noncompliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that hazardous substances were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.

Evidence:
1. The toddler room had cleaning materials, bleach water, in an unlocked spot on the counter after diapering was completed for the classroom.

REPEAT VIOLATION****Based on observation and interview, the center failed to ensure that pillows were not used by children under two years of age.

Evidence:
1. LI observed two children under age of 2 years with "sleep sacks" that include pillows. The children were 19 months and 23 months.
2. Administration confirmed children's age and that the children had pillows with the "sleep sack".
