Inspector Notes
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted beginning at 9:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. There were 10 children in care ages 21 months through 4 years old for a total of 21 points under the care and supervision of the provider and two assistants.
Children were observed during music and movement time, during morning circle time, transition time and preparing for lunch. Lunch is brought from home. Childcare areas and supplies and materials were observed.
Posted information was reviewed. There is a complete first aid kit, a battery operated radio and flashlight. Training hours were reviewed. Five children's records, three caregiver records and three household member records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-770-60-C-2
Based on review of documentation and interview with the provider, it was determined that the provider failed to obtain documentation of central registry background checks within 30 days of employment. Evidence: Caregiver #3, start date 3/20/2023, did not have documentation of a central registry background check in the record.

Based on review of documentation and interview with the provider, it was determined the provider failed to obtain documentation of references by the first day of employment. Evidence: Caregiver #3, start date 3/20/2023, did not have documentation of two references prior to employment.

Standard 8VAC20-800-180-A
Based on review of documentation and interview with the provider, it was determined that the provider failed to obtain subsequent Tuberculosis (TB) screenings every two years as required. Evidence: Caregiver #1, Household #1, Household #2, Caregiver #3 last documented TB screening was dated 2/20/2021.
