Inspector Notes

Conducted an investigation into concerns reported about the care of children. Interviews conducted, records reviewed, and observations made. There was not a preponderance of evidence to support the concerns reported, however; an area of non-compliance not reported was found. Questions about this report may be directed to pamela.sneed@doe.virginia.gov

Violations

1
Standard 8VAC20-780-440-J
Based on observations made, it was determined that crib spacing was not in compliance in the infant room.

Evidence:

1. A total of 4 occupied cribs did not have a minimum of 30" of clearance space on the service side for staff access.
2. Crib clearance space was measured by the inspector to be between 21" - 22".
Plan of Correction: In the event a parent(s) or teacher(s) report suspicion of potential child abuse, we will make a report with Child Protective Services per requirements of Code of Virginia 63.1509. This reporting is regardless of evidence. On 8/9/23 we reminded all teachers of the mandated reporting.
