Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring visit was conducted. Three children were present with one caregiver for six points which is within ratios for supervision. Dedicated space in the basement is used for daycare. Reviewed 3 records, household pet's rabies record, trainings for the provider, emergency preparation, nutrition and physical space. no medication was reported to be on-site and the provider does not administer. Lunch served today was lentils and rice, oranges and a vegetable. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on observation, potentially hazardous materials were accessible to children.
Evidence:
A gas can was sitting by the front step leading into the daycare home as well as unlocked items in the downstairs bathroom cabinet.
Plan of Correction: Provider stated she would move it to another place away from children.

Based on observation, a sharp object is not inaccessible to children.
Evidence:
A pair of gardening shears were laying by the front door step.
Plan of Correction: The shears were moved during the inspection.

Based on observation, equipment used by the provider is not free from hazards.
Evidence:
Kitchen stools are high and have potential head entrapment areas that the children used during lunch.
