During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above to include standards found out of compliance during the previous inspection. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed. If there were any serious injuries or fatalities related to a violation, the details will be included in the description of the violation.

Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated on 12/2/2024 and completed on 12/30/2024. The on-site inspection began at 1:25 pm and ended at 3:45 pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 55 children present and 8 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 5 staff records on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, observations and measurements.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-270-A
(Repeat Violation) Areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, shall be maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition to include rusting or breakage of any equipment and chipped or peeling paint. The floor vent in the restroom used by children in care was rusted and had areas of peeling paint.
Plan of Correction: The vent will be repaired or replaced this week.
Standard 8VAC20-780-560-G
When food is brought from home, the food container shall be sealed and clearly dated and labeled in a way that identifies the owner. Six children's cups brought from home and containing liquid located in the toddler room were not labeled with t he child's name or dated.
Plan of Correction: Staff were aware of the children's individual cups that were brought in that morning and labeled them. Staff will ask parents to label and date cups that are brought in each morning and will have a roll of masking tape available to label them if they are brought in unlabeled.
