Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 10:40 am to 12:15pm. There were 9 children (24 points) with 3 caregivers. The children were observed playing with toys in small groups. Handwashing was observed before lunch. There were no medications on site. A walk through of the family day home was conducted. 3 children's records and 3 caregiver records were reviewed.

Based on records review, the provider did not have a current certification in First Aid.
Evidence: The provider's first aid training expired on 1/25/22.
Plan of Correction: The training has been scheduled for 3/26/22.
Standard 8VAC20-800-540-B
Based on observation, an infant walker was in use at the family day home.
Evidence: One infant was observed using an infant walker.
Plan of Correction: The walker will be removed and not used again.
Standard 8VAC20-800-960-E
Based on observation, an infant bottle was not labeled with the name and date.
Evidence:
1. There were two infants in care during the inspection.
2. One infant bottle was found sitting on a shelf without the child's name and date.
Plan of Correction: Bottles will be checked for names and dates.
