Standard 8VAC20-780-560-F-4
When centers choose to provide meals or snacks, children three years of age or younger may not be offered foods that are considered to be potential choking hazards. Staff #3 was observed handing out gobstopper candy to the nine children in the classroom as a treat. The nine children in the class were three years and four years in age.
Plan of Correction: Per the director: It's not normally done, and i will brief staff again on hard candy. The children returned the candy and the candy was removed from the classroom.
