Inspector Notes

A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 8/07/2023 to review supplemental health and safety requirements.
The subsidy requirements were reviewed this date; allergy action plans, staff trainings, nutrition and food services, recordkeeping, hazardous substances, reporting injuries, emergency plans and transportation.
A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice.

Standard 8VAC20-790-180-B
Based on review of the attendance record, the vendor did not maintain a written hard copy record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs.
Evidence:
1. During the week of 7/31/2023 through 8/04/2023, the vendor wrote down the child's names as they arrived, but did not document when the children left the home.
Plan of Correction: The standard rule is to mark out the name when the child leaves. This form will be revised to include time of arrival and departure.
Standard 8VAC20-790-250-B
Based on review of staff records, all caregivers did not complete Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff sponsored by the Department of Education within the first 90 days of employment or service.
Evidence:
1. Caregiver #2 (Approximate start date 4/2024) had not completed the Virginia Preservice Training within 90 days of employment.
Plan of Correction: Caregiver is currently completing this training.
