Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.

An initial inspection was initiated and concluded on 10/12/2021. The provider was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were zero children present, with one staff present. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of one provider record and two household member records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on interview with the provider it was determined that the family day home did not have a landline telephone available and operable. Evidence: The provider had not obtained a landline telephone number or landline telephone for the family day home.
Plan of Correction: The provider will purchase a landline telephone and request landline service at the family day home.
Standard 22VAC40-111-770
Based on interview with the provider it was determined that a weather band radio was not available and accessible in the family day home. Evidence: The provider had not obtained a weather band radio to be available for emergencies in the family day home.
Plan of Correction: The provider will purchase a weather band radio.
