Inspector Notes

A renewal inspection was initiated on 3/8/2024 and concluded on 3/8/2024. There were 17 children present with three staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of five child records and four staff records were reviewed. The inspection started at 10:10 am and concluded at 12:45 pm.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on observation the center failed to ensure that Children under 10 years of age always shall be within actual sight and sound supervision of staff, except that staff need only be able to hear a child who is using the restroom.
Evidence:
The children were in the cafeteria area doing a craft. When a child needed to wash hands or use the restroom they would leave the cafeteria and go to the restroom located around the corner, out of sight and sound supervision of staff.
Plan of Correction: The director will remind staff that they need to have constant sight and sound supervision of children walking to and from the restroom.
