Inspector Notes

An unannounced inspection was initiated on 9/2/2025 and completed on 9/22/2025 in response to a complaint received by the licensing office on 9/2/25 relating to allegations of Care of Children. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records on site on 9/2/2025. This inspection included observation, records review. center policy review and interviews.
The preponderance of evidence gathered during the investigation supports the allegation(s); therefore, the complaint is determined to be valid. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and the violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-340-A
The staff shall ensure care, guidance and protection.

A child ,Child 1, at the center has bitten other children 7 times this year and 12 times last year.
Plan of Correction: We met with the family of the child that was biting and asked them to follow steps to get additional supports in place for the child in the classroom environment.
We also updated out biting policy the beginning of this school year.
Standard 8VAC20-780-40-J
The center shall have an injury prevention plan updated yearly based on documentation of injuries.

The center does not an annual record of injuries.
Plan of Correction: The school has updated the annual injury assessment to have a running log for every classroom of injuries reported to be able to keep track of any trends in the classroom.
