Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 10:30 am - 1:15 pm. There were 125 children in care being supervised by 18 staff. The children were observed participating in story-time activities, structured center activities, playing outdoors and eating lunch. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of ten child records and eight staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. If you have questions regarding this inspection you may contact Sharon Allen at 540-272-2941 or sharon.allen@doe.virginia.gov.

Violations

1
Standard 8VAC20-780-270-A
Based on observation it was determined that no all areas of the facility were maintained in safe condition. Evidence: Peeling paint was observed in the Early Preschool 1 classroom on the bottom wall at entrance as well as in the Pre-K 1 classroom on the wall by the window at the back of the classroom.
Plan of Correction: Administration has requested that maintenance repair the peeling paint. The spots of peeling paint will be covered until maintenance can permanently repair the areas.
