Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 3/14/23 from 10:30 am to 11:40 am. There were 5 children (15 points) with 1 caregiver. The children were observed playing with toys, learning colors, numbers and days of the week. There were no children on site with medications and allergies. 1 caregiver's record, 2 children's records, attendance and emergency drill records and supplies were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on observation and records review, the provider did not obtain written authorization from parents for children's topical skin products.
Evidence: Written authorizations were not obtained for Child # 1, Child # 2 and Child # 3's topical skin ointments that include moisturizer and diaper rash cream.
Plan of Correction: I will get written authorizations for all ointments and creams.
