Inspector Notes

A subsidy health and safety inspection conducted on 1/9/2023. There were no children in care during the inspection. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, personnel, environment and equipment, care of children, preventing the spread of disease, emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 staff records were reviewed. The inspector arrived for the inspection at 10:20am and departed the center at 11:53am.

A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued.

Based on the review of two staff?s records, the center failed to ensure that within 90 days of employment staff who work directly with children shall complete Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff.

Evidence: Staff #1 date of hire was 8/23/2022and on the day of the inspection did not have the required Preservice Training.
Plan of Correction: Provider will ensure employee completes Preservice Training.
Standard 8VAC20-790-600-D-1
Based on the review of two staff?s records, the center failed to ensure that all staff who work directly with children shall have within 90 days current certification in CPR appropriate to the ages of children in care.

Evidence:
1. Staff #1 start date was 8/23/2022 and on the day of the inspection did not have current CPR training documented.
Plan of Correction: Provider will ensure staff receive CPR training.

Based on the review of two staff?s records, the center failed to ensure that all staff who work directly with children shall have within 90 days current certification in first aid appropriate to the ages of children in care.
