Inspector Notes

An announced initial inspection was conducted on 12/13/21 from 9:00am to 11:00am with the provider. The provider plans to operate 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. The provider will care for up to 9 children from 1-month to 13-years of age. Most, but not all, standards were reviewed as standards related to supervision and programming could not be observed because there were no children in care during the inspection. The provider's record, and four household members? records were reviewed. The provider has current certification in CPR and First Aid. Medications will not be administered at this time and the provider is aware that she must obtain Medication Administration Training (MAT) in order to give medication. The home is equipped with a variety of age appropriate materials. Breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner will be prepared by the provider. Policies and procedures were reviewed. The first aid kit, flashlight, weather band radio, fire extinguisher, and smoke detectors were observed. A conditional (6 month) license will be recommended. An unannounced follow up inspection will be conducted within 60 days to determine compliance with standards not observed at the initial inspection. If you have questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Laura Brindle, at laura.brindle@doe.virginia.gov or 540-905-2062.
