Inspector Notes
A renewal inspection was conducted on074/22/2022 . There were 48 children present, ranging in ages from 2 years to school age, with 7 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 6 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program and discussed with the program director during the exit interview
Violations
2Evidence:
1. There is diphenhydramine stored for emergency administration to child 7. There is no written parent authorization for the medication to be administered to child 7.
2. Staff 1 verified that there was no written parent authorization for the medication to be administered to child 7 in a emergency.
3. There is diphenhydramine and epinephrine stored for emergency administration to child 8. There is no written parent authorization for the medications to be administered to child 8.
4. Staff 1 verified that there was no written parent authorization for the medications to be administered to child 8 in a emergency.
All required authorizations will be obtained. In the future, medication authorization forms will be obtained prior to allowing medication to be brought into the facility.
Evidence:
1. There was diphenhydramine and epinephrine stored for emergency administration to child 6 for an egg allergy. The record did not include a written care plan for child 6's diagnosed food allergy.
2. Staf 1 acknowledged that they did not have a written care plan for child 6.
The parent will be contacted today to obtain an allergy management plan from the doctor. In the future, we will ensure that we have obtained allergy management plans for any child with a diagnosed food allergy.
