Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on 04/18/2024. The inspector arrived at 9:25 AM and departed at 11:00 AM.There were 81 children present, ranging in ages from 2 years to Kindergarten, with 12 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 5 staff records were reviewed.
Moring activities were observed. The outdoor playground was inspected.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program and discussed with the program director during the exit interview.

Standard 8VAC20-780-500-A
Based upon observation, the facility has not ensured that children wash their hands before and after eating snacks and meals.
Evidence:
the children in classroom 3 were observed finished morning snack. The children did not wash their hands prior to starting other activities - reading books.
Plan of Correction: The facility responded with the following:
Staff were immediately reminded that the children must wash their hands after eating. This will also be reviewed at our next staff meeting.
Standard 8VAC20-780-60-A
Based upon review of children's records, the facility has not ensured that each child's record includes the names, addresses and telephone numbers of two persons other than the parents to be contacted in an emergency when a parent cannot be reached.
Evidence:
The record for child 5 did not include any emergency contact persons other than the parents.
