Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted 1/23/2023 between the hours of 9:25am through 10:20am. There were a total of 9 children present ranging in age from 10 months to 3 years old (27 points) with the Provider and 1 assistant. A total of 5 children?s files, 2 staff files, and 1 household member?s files were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following: eating breakfast and engaging in age appropriate free play. Positive interactions between caregivers and children were observed during this inspection. A complete inspection of the programming space, children and staff records, emergency drills, menu, attendance, and emergency procedures were completed today. No new staff have been hired since the last inspection. The provider advised there was no medication on site today. There was an abundant supply of age appropriate materials and toys and the home was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Based on observation and provider interview, the provider did not ensure that the menu for the current one-week period was given to parents or posted in an area accessible to parents.

Evidence: The provider stated she has not made the menu for this week yet.
Plan of Correction: Update menu weekly and post it.

Based on observation and provider interview, the provider did not have an operable thermometer available to monitor refrigerator and freezer compartment temperatures.

Evidence: The provider utilizes the refrigerator in the programming space for food storage for the children and did not have a thermometer placed inside to monitor refrigerator and freezer compartment temperatures.
Plan of Correction: Purchase thermometer to monitor refrigerator and freezer.
