Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 02/02/2023. There were 2 children present, ages 5 months- 23 months, totaling 7 points and 1 caregiver present during the inspection. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, personnel, training, environment and equipment, care of children, preventing the spread of diseases, emergencies, and nutrition. A total of 2 children?s records, 1 caregiver record and 1 household member record were viewed. The children were observed during rest time and independent play. The inspector discussed the following with the provider: training hours. The inspector arrived for the inspection at 2:30 pm and departed the family day home at 3:45 pm.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notices issued to provider.

Standard 8VAC20-800-90-A
Based on the record review, the provider failed to ensure before a child may attend the family day home, the provider shall obtain documentation that the child has been adequately immunized according to the requirements.
Evidence: The record for Child 1 contained a documentation of the first date of attendance as 05/01/2022. The date of immunization record was 06/01/2022.
Plan of Correction: Caregiver will obtain immunization documentation for all children enrolled before their start date beginning 02/03/2023.
