Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was initiated and completed on July 29, 2024, as a part of licensure period. The on-site inspection began at 9:00am and ended at 9:45am. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 4 children present and 1 staff. The inspector reviewed 4 children?s records, 1 staff record and 1 household member record on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the home, interviews, and observations. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on 8/6/24. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

Based on observation, the caregiver did not wash their hands with liquid soap and warm running water before feeding or helping children with feeding.
Evidence:
The caregiver did not wash hands before helping children with serving cheerios and feeding breakfast during the inspection.
Plan of Correction: Caregiver washes hands before and during feeding.
Standard 8VAC20-800-680-B
Based on observation, the caregivers did not ensure that children?s hands were washed with liquid soap and warm running water before eating.
Evidence:
The caregiver did not wash the children?s hands after they played with toys and returned to the table to eat.
Plan of Correction: Wash hands before eating.
Standard 8VAC20-800-900-B
Based on observation, the caregiver did not ensure children not be allowed to eat while walking and playing.
Evidence:
Child #3 and Child #4 were observed eating and walking around the 2 playrooms and outdoors with food in their hands and bowls.
Plan of Correction: No eating while walking and playing.
