Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 2:20pm-3:10pm. There were 5 children (15 points) directly supervised by 2 staff. The home, 2 staff records, 5 children?s records, 1 household member?s record, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Medications were inspected. Children were observed napping, singing and eating snack. There was an adequate supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. The home was clean and organized. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on observation, child-resistant protective covers were not installed on all unused electrical outlets accessible to children under five years of age.

Evidence:
1. Two unused electrical outlets were observed without a protective cover in the bathroom used by children.
2. One unused electrical outlet was observed without a protective cover in the main programming area, behind a high chair.
Plan of Correction: I put the electrical outlets once the inspector left the daycare.
