Inspector Notes

An unannounced on-site monitoring inspection was conducted on 1130/2023. There were 43 children, ages 4 months-3 years, and 15 staff members present during the inspection. The inspector observed the following: free choice activities, large motor play outside, and lunch. A total of 5 children?s records and 3 staff records, were reviewed. The inspector discussed the following with staff: program leader qualifications. The inspector arrived at 10:30 AM and departed at 12:20 PM.

Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that all chemicals were locked using a
safe locking method that prevents access by children.

Evidence:

1.The cabinet that stored the chemicals in the toddler room was unlocked and the key was in the lock. The children were outside playing when the LI observed the unlocked cabinet door.
2.There was a spray can of Static Guard was sitting on a desk outside of the sunflower room.
Plan of Correction: The chemicals were locked during the inspection. All staff will be reminded.
