Inspector Notes
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 10/26/23 from 10:40am to 12:00pm with the provider who was present with one assistant. There were 11 children in care, ranging in age from 13-months to four-years-old, for a total of 26 points. Children were observed playing outside, exercising along to an exercise video, washing hands, and eating lunch. A diaper change was also observed. Four child records, three caregiver records, one pet record, and one adult household member record were reviewed. The provider and one assistant have current certification in CPR and First Aid. The provider does not give medication and understands that they must obtain certification in Medication Administration Training (MAT) in order to give medication in the future. Lunch served was rice with chicken, cucumbers, carrots, and milk. Younger children were given fruit/veggie purees. The first aid kit, flashlight, weather-band radio, and fire extinguisher were observed. The emergency drill log, attendance, and menu were also reviewed. If you have questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Laura Brindle, at laura.brindle@doe.virginia.gov or 540-905-2062.
